MEP Quantity Surveyor Site - Indo Pacific Region

 We are looking for a MEP Quantity Surveyor who will be responsible for managing costs and contracts for MEP works on construction sites. The role involves preparing cost estimates, monitoring project expenditures, evaluating subcontractor claims, and ensuring compliance with project budgets and specifications..

This position requires relocation to Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands where housing is provided and likely includes future relocations to other Pacific island locations.

What we are looking for: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical or Electrical, Engineering (or related field).
  • 3-5 years of experience in MEP quantity surveying on construction sites.
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, materials, and installation techniques.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software
  •  

Responsibilities include:

Attend pre-bid meetings/conferences and site visits. Prepare a detailed site assessment report with required site-adapt measurements.

Read the RFP, drawings, specifications, SOW and develop the gist, action plan and scope summary

Prepare proposal queries and get it clarified by the Client

Identify the subcontractors/suppliers’ requirements and obtain quotes from relevant suppliers and subcontractors

Coordinate with designers, schedulers, specialist consultants/ subcontractors and other technical matter experts and prepare the proposals.

Develop the cost estimates (using CCS) of the Projects including the below activities.

Quantity take-off and BOQ preparation as per CSI format. Plan swift knowledge is important.

Develop a full list of subcontractors (full package), trade-wise subcontractors and suppliers for in-house estimates to be prepared.

Sending RFQs, amendments, TQs, and BOQs to the subcontractors and suppliers and obtaining competitive quotes.

Make sure the queries raised by the subcontractors and suppliers are answered

Develop the checklist.

Review the in-house estimate and make sure aligned with the SOW and technical proposal.

Follow Up with the subcontractors and suppliers for on-time pricing.

Assist in post-award procurement with techno-commercial evaluation.

Develop a detailed budget with a detailed list of materials, equipment, accessories, and labor breakdowns.

Monitor the site progress and labor productivity.

Monitor the site material usage and equipment usage.

Control the procurement request.

Develop weekly and monthly cost monitoring reports and control the cost.

Prepare the Earned Value analysis and provide management reporting.

Responsible for preparing FAR, DFAR, and other US DOD standard conditions of contract

Strong knowledge in developing the cost claims and negotiating with the Client.
