A landmark contract award has further strengthened MVL’s growing presence in Japan. MVL’s Yamauchi Gumi has been awarded the $115 million NEXCOM Lodging project at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa. The award represents an important achievement for the organization and demonstrates its growing capability to undertake large, technically complex facilities within active U.S. military installations. A lodging project of this scale requires the integration of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life-safety, and specialist hospitality systems. Its execution will involve extensive coordination with the client, designers, local authorities, installation stakeholders, subcontractors, and suppliers. Working at Kadena Air Base also brings additional requirements involving controlled access, security, logistics, construction sequencing, and the continuity of ongoing base operations. By combining Yamauchi Gumi’s knowledge of the Japanese construction environment with MVL’s international federal contracting experience, the team is positioned to deliver a high-quality facility that meets both operational and guest requirements.
